About the library
The Neil Gorsuch Library collects the judicial opinions Neil Gorsuch has written, as the courts published them, and catalogs his books, articles and papers. Each opinion here is the court's own text, and I mark every paragraph with the page it came from, so you can check any quotation you take from this site against the court's copy.
Where it came from
In 2017, while he was the nominee for the Supreme Court, several libraries built the Neil Gorsuch Project: the Tenth Circuit opinions he wrote or joined, references to his writing and speeches, and for most opinions a link to the court's copy. The University of Virginia's Arthur J. Morris Law Library hosted it. That site is gone, and what's left of it is in the Wayback Machine; my captures of it are among the sources I consulted, listed at the foot of this page. I found the opinions again through CourtListener's records and took each document from the court's own website or from govinfo. The text comes from those PDFs, and where I had started from another database's transcription, I replaced it with the court's copy.
What's here
The library holds 160 Supreme Court opinions of his, decided from June 26, 2017 to June 30, 2026, and 170 published Tenth Circuit opinions, decided from November 9, 2006 to December 20, 2016. I haven't built the coverage report yet, so the coverage page has no numbers to show.
The 5 publications of his in the library each have a catalog record, and a link to find a copy where one exists. Each also has a short excerpt.
Who maintains it
The library is a project of Codex Publicus. I built it and I keep it current. When I retire an identifier, replace a source with a better copy, or correct a word in the text, the changes page says what changed and why.
Using what's here
Court opinions are works of the United States government and have no copyright. The metadata, corrections and arrangement are mine, under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
Sources I consulted
These are writing about Neil Gorsuch, not by him. I keep copies because the coverage figures or the metadata rely on them.
